Hey, a kid in town that I know is selling a 1600 watt amp and a kenwood box for a 12 inch sub for $175. I know nothing about sound stystems, so I don't know if this is a good price or not. What do you guys think? I'm not sure about the bradn of the amp, but I know it's not a cheap brand. I'll let you know what brand when I find out later today. Just let me know what you guys think, they are both in good condition. And there is no sub with it, just the box and the amp.

A Kenwood sub and box or just the box. As it stands right now without knowing what brand of amp I'm going to say no.

definately not, just cause its a kenwood box dont make it anything special besides the fact its made kenwood subs.......and most likely i dont care what kinda amp that is.......anything reputable that puts out 1600 watts is going to cost an arm and a leg, not 175 bucks.......and thats prolly max not rms........let us know the specs on the amp and what kind it is.......cause the box isnt anything special but the amp may be, but i dunno.....

the amp that rev is talking about isnt brand new and the kid that owns it dropped the price to 175 because he wants it out of his bedroom. the rms on the amp is about 850-900W and it is just a box there is no sub in it right now

i'd pay 175 for a box and 900w RMS, but still depending on the brand of the amp.

It's an AMerican Legacy amp. I will probably end up getting this, to last me for the year until I actually feel like blowing my wallet on a good amp.

I've never heard of American Legacy but I have heard of Legacy amps. And Legacy amps are trash. Just because it says 1600 watts on the front doesn't mean it does 1600 watts. If you can, take it to a sound shop and get them to do a bench test on it. It probably won't come out to half that wattage. Me personally I would stay away from it. You need to figure out which subs you are going to use before you pic an amp. You can get a nice sound sound quality sub and then put a cheap amp on it and it will sound like pure crap.

I would definatly not put that amp on those subs. If your just getting 1 sub get a Directed 600D or if you get 2 get a 1100D. The 600D should run about $150 on ebay and the 1100D is about $200. Spend the extra money and get something worth the money and does the amount of wattage is says. I wouldn't put that sub in a prefab box. It may not have the correct airspace needed for the sub. It's real easy to build one that matches the specs of the sub. You might spend a couple extra bucks now but better than spending a couple hundred more next year.

^^ yeah, Ill probably end up getting the box and amp from that kid, and selling the amp or trashing it, and getting a 600W rockford or something.

hmm, k are Kenwood box's with a cracked mirror worth 150 bucks? It's for 1 12 inch sub. Has the plexi glass on the opposite side of the sub oppening. And a mirror underneath, which has a small crack under where the sub would be.

that amps worth more that 20 though, 1600 legacy watts = probably 400-500watts, id say its worth at least 100-150 used if everything is ok. id offer him 130 for everything, see what he says. a single 12 box with plexy is worth 50-75 depending what it looks like, etc etc
