Trying a light stone fleck scheme...
About x months ago I decided apon using white grey stone fleck paint for my alero's interior. I got around to painting the um dash cone deally. (Can you tell I'm a noob?) It actually turned out ok but for a small paint it looked retarded on the whole. Over the next 2 days I'm going to rip the dash apart and paint the rest of it, in moderation (Marriage really eats your time up).
Here comes my big question, and I'll post some pics of the stone fleck first real soon, but since I have a silverish Alero when I rip apart lights to clear the corners should I apply my scheme to the headlight bezels also? I think it will look pretty nice except it will probably be the only outward apearance of it at all. I haven't heard of anyone else trying this stuff so far and it hasn't flaked or anything over the past 6+ months at all so I'll post a pic in a little while of what I'm talking about... After a few more drinks... I'll need them for the flameing I'm sure.

I think it's one of those things you need to see, It's textured too so it's not just a color it has that kind of weird feel to it. Realy, I'll take a pic of the dash in couple. I only painted the one piece cuz to see how it would last. Great so far, I don't use many chems on it and it was clear coated, over and over and over. But once you see it I think you'll think it would rock on the headlight bezel of a silver or maby even black with light grey interior Alero.

Here are the pics.
You can see in pic C that it doesn't spray even and the texture looks weak at some angles. But for gray/silver it's hard to find anything that looks good and I'm thinking this concrete looking stone might be the fit.

Over the next couple days I'm planing on doing most of the rest of the trims in that fleck, not everything though. It's a little unpredictable though since it's it's a 3-d fleck (basically it's chucks of color {light greys} over a base coat (black in this case) ). You can see the section that turned out more black at that one angle. It's got a rough rock texture to it and I put about 5 coats of clear coat on it, probably will put some more since it's water soluable. But it's held up pretty good so far.

Really think it looks like countertops? I'll be lighting it blue, so I think the whites will light up nicely but the greys won't darken so much as to make it dark. Plus I don't plan to paint the entire interior just the basic int trim and the top half of the center. Around the HVAC and such, and leave that dark grey. Guess we'll have to see how long the wife will let me work it on my 4 days away from wife (2 day left, 3 hours actually used, Math = If it get's worse I'm going fishing and taking everything with me!!!)

Come on Sound, "rofl?" is either an unsure that it's going to look like Shite or that it might eventually work out... Details... I need them. Plus since I'm going through with it any idea might help.
Has anyone ever sanded their Hazard button? Since I'm going to have it off for a few days there's some darker stones I could inverse stencil on it, does it have a natural color? Any ideas? There's a green granite that I might think would work there.... I don't think much light will show through the flecks, hell I could probably sand some pieces on my dash now, and as you can see I need to sand some.

Maybe the final product will be really nice or it will be a giant disco ball. I don't really like flashy colors, but that's just me. If I have to paint some color in my car, it will have to be really dark, and will have to fit with the rest of the interior. My 2 pennies.
