I had Silverstars on my Alero, and they weren't any better than the PIAA's; marginally whiter than stock, arguably less bright. Spend your money wisely and get some real HID's. Best lighting advice you can possibly get. Even my 4300k headlights are whiter than Silverstars.

You must be talking about the regular silverstar bulbs. These are the new Ultras. They are much brighter and have a nice white light to them. Considerably brighter than stock.

Even so, there is a limit to how bright a filament-based bulb can get, even without considering the damage it may do to the wiring harness.

Regardless, HID bulbs mated with good projectors will win every time, both in terms of brightness and light distribution. I wasted a lot of money on 9006 and 9005 bulbs, and even HID 9006 bulbs, trying to get better output. Ultimately, that money could have been better spent towards proper HID's and projectors.
