They're great amps just extremely overpriced. How much power are you looking to get and at what Ohm?

right now im running 3 200 watt rms kenwood 12s the amps are kenwood 8101d 1000 watt the other one is dont laugh rock box 1000 watt I dont think these two amps are doin anywhere neart what I want. I am basically rethinking my whole set up because I need more bass. the speakers are 4 ohm and the kenwood is 1 ohm stable. Would a better amp push these speakers better or should I start from the ground up?

They are awsome amps, stable, really clean, and long lasting, like alpine B)
They are allso regulate output so that means you dont really need to worry about wiring the subs up, it will still put out w.e its rated at.

I think the only complaints Ive ever heard of from the jl amps are the price. I had three slash series amps in my alero and loved them.

You should start from the ground up. How much money are you looking to spend? Are you going to use the fiberglass boxes you built? If so how much airspace are they each?

Skip the infinity amp. They make nice speakers but the amps are overpriced for the quality. A class D tends to be very poor with handling the speaker resonance (not too mention the thd factors). this is the primary reason that it has been extremely hard to incorporate a class D into anything over a subwoofer. Take a look at the infinitiy specs. It carries a damping factor of 6.357 at 4 ohms. This is extremely bad. Go with the JL and get some quality behind the sub.

They are awsome amps but wayy overpriced, but so is alpine gear... sorta you pay for the name and the quality, and SQ that comes with it. Its a decision that you have to make, do you want to spend the cash on a good name or a Deacent name..
Do i buy an alpine amp and know that as long as i dont do something stupid it will work for ever and sound awsome, or do i buy something that works good for a few monthes years, and isnt proven.
Stuff like alpine and JL you can buy used and be assured that its gunna last a long time. Usualy thats what i do is find good deals on used audio stuff... lol

Well I said F**K it and bought one today. Just In the midst of tuning right now and it sounds good. better than what i had But im alittle surprised. I thought it was gonna blow thew fronts off my speakers off. I think I have to figure how to wire the three subs properly to take advantage of the power. there is a light on the amp that im assuming is supposed to light up when its at one ohm and I cant seem to get it to light up no matter how I hook it up. Any help would be nice. The 12s are rated at 4 ohms.

ok when you say in parellel this is what i think you mean.
right positive runs to all three positve sub hook ups and back to the left positive on the amp. Then the right negative runs to all the negative sub hook ups and back to the left negative output on the amp. Is this right?
Help
