IT SOUNDS TERRIBLE
I'll try to find the video someone put up of the Pacesetter cat-back on the 2.4L. It's worse than the worst Honda ricer. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRHWaCCnqXE
Have a custom setup made at your local muffler place. Put a Magnaflow straight through muffler after the cat, then piping to a Dynomax Super Turbo. It'll be a little more aggressive with a lot more flow but have absolutely no rasp, no rice. Here's what that sounds like, well, with boost: http://www.ion-productions.com/exhaust/exhaust1.wmv

Anything on an inline motor sounds ricey.
I've seen videos of Trailblazers and Envoys on Youtube and they have the 4.2 I-6 motor. Good motor, but muffler wise, sounds ricey, although at a higher RPM

I have the pacesetter for the 3.4L and it sounds good, but please for the love of all that is good and holy do not put it on a 4 cylinder. It will sound like a lawnmower. I vote you take ion's advice.

So from what I can understand... It is almost impossible to avoid the Ricer sound on a 4 Cycle..... unless I get it all Custom???

Unbelievable as it may sound, I spent about 3 hours swapping and tacking all kinds of boomcans on the 2.2L, and the best we found, was one of those stupid glasspacks from Canadian Tire.
Its not sticking out of the end on the can, it's actually right up near the trunk box, and then extended about 2 inches, into a polished stainless SilverStar dual muffler tip.
There is no rice at all, it has a nice deep rumble at idle , I havn't come on to it yet, but that's comin' tonight . The whole thing, welded and installed took about 3 hr's, but he only billed me for about 45 mins labor. 200 bucks at a specialty shop.

No it's unless you get the right components. All exhaust systems are custom besides the one and only Pacesetter cat-back that you order.
Dynomax is like $50, Magnaflow is like $40. Plus cost of tubing plus install at the muffler shop.

Are you more concerned with how the exhaust sounds or how it performs?
You have an Eco so it's not going to sound like Ion's car even with an identical setup.

You must not have heard many 4 cylinders with an aftermarket exhaust.

The Summit turbo Muffler is cheap and is a straight thru design also. Check that out and see if that's what you want
