I'll give it a HOW TO

One problem I have here, HOW IN THE HELL do you get enough room to move the housing and remove the thermostat?!

I've read people doing it without taking off that heat shield on the exhaust, I was going to remove it but I can't get the rear 2 bolts out.

I'm within a half an inch of getting the thermostat out but I can't manage enough space.

I took off the MAF and boot to the TB, didn't think removing the TB would matter since I need the housing to slide outward not up.

Am I missing something here? This thermostat on this car is the biggest pain in the ass I've had so far.

pull the t-stat and housing out at the same time, and you have to put it back in the same way.

i'll probably take it over to work and crack it open again, I tried yesterday but was in a rush and had no luck, probably within 1/2 or so of getting it out too.

Ended up having to bolt it back up, put coolant back in and drive it

I should have the time to try again on this one, hopefully it goes a bit smoother

disconnected all the lines off the housing, and some knocking and kicking it it came loose.

had some trouble overheating a bit, raising above the middle mark a hair then going up if i sat at a light or let the car idle.

no problems so far, a hair below the middle mark with a 180

it's turning into more of a cooling fan problem

i changed the thermostat, engine coolant temp sensor, bled the cooling system, changed the fan relays and fan control relay with no luck yet. The fans aren't kicking in and the engine is still running hot

gonna be doing the intake gaskets in another week or two and then sort it out from there
