Alero gas tank woes

Got a new Alero in yesterday a 2002 with 12,000 miles that was T boned, sat in a salvage yard for a year before it was released by the insurance company and after adding gas I see some idiot yardie drilled about a 1/4 inch hole in the bottom tank. Inbred bastard ruined a $527.67 tank for 10 bucks worth of 1 year old lacquered gas. Thinking about threading a self sealing 1/8" pipe plug into it to seal the plastic tank, ideas, thoughts, input?

Could you remove it, and weld it, sealing it?

There are many techniques for welding plastic, actually. I am not buying a new tank salvage or new... I will let you know how it goes tonight. Wish me luck gentlemen.

Actually I did, because as long as he can seal it properly he should be good to go.

I posted it here because I am retarded, I got the leak sealed by the way I just bought a plastic gas tank seal kit and it worked very nicely. If it starts leaking after I sell the car I have 2 Aleros right now with good gas tanks, I'll put one in for them if its an issue. The car is a 3400 SFi GL2 and it's a pretty nice car.

The 3400 isnt a bad motor, especially when it only has 12,000 miles on it. Give it 50,000 more miles and they will be replacing the LIM gasket and probably some hubs.
