Wiring harness question.

Setting up a new head unit in my car. Got my wiring harness and currently matching up the colors to the other ones that go into the new radio itself. On the wiring harness I have one extra color that is orange and it says it is for the dimmer. There is no orange on the other ones that go into the new radio.

Have another wire on the wiring harness that is black with grey stripe. It says it is for the amp ground. but there is not one on the ones that go into the radio.

And Also a Blue one that says Power Antenna. Same thing as above, no other one to match it up to.

Do I just tape up these wires so they aren't used or touching anything? Or do I remove them completely from the harness?

The harness is for GM 94-05 by turbowire

Also the wiring harness and the ones that go into the radio have a black wire. The one that goes into the radio has the piece on the end to be grounded to the metal. Should I just cut that off and match the two black ones together, no ground required?

Haha yeah I understand. I'm going to tape off the 3 I don't use and have all the others connected. Read somewhere that the stock harness that is already in the car is grounded so connecting the two black ones should be fine. I'll try hooking it up within a half hour or so and will post my results.

Please don't set on fire car!

Edit: Got it to work. Taped off the 3 I didn't use.

can you cut the ground from the chime rap module harness and ground it to the body of the car instead of it grounding through the factory harness or will it ruine the module?

Probably? But since the radio harness and the wiring harness both have a black ground wire, make it simple and connect them together.
