Spoke with Zoomer today at 12:18 p.m. est. Still waiting to hear back from Charles at DHP if they will offer the chip to them. Once he hears something from Charles (yes or no) he is going to email scat man on the impala site. So it seems we are still in a holding pattern on this one. Right now I feel like hurting someone.

im not really mad at you just upset because it seemed like everyhting was going so smoothly and next thing you know everyone but us and a few grand ams cant get the chip. I would have no problem contacting DHP but there is never any mention of a phone number. You can scour their site and only find email contact points.

yeah, i know just emails, theyve been prompt with me when i was looking into them before the group buy, they even emailed outta the blue wondering if i had ordered it already. ive been debating contacting them but i figure ill let zzp sort out the issue. ill be just as upset over this as well if it doesnt go through.

After talking with Zoomer and then Rowdy telling me to talk to DHP and to leave him alone, I decided to email DHP. I sent Charles an email stating that we are part of a masive group buy but the website for the purchase does not offer alero chips. Also, as long as they would sell the chips to zzperformance that Zoomer would honor the deal on his end. Then offered my assistance if need be to make it happen.

Dont know if this will help any but am awaiting an email from Charles now. At least I know that both Zoomer and Charles are now aware of our dilema.

alright players, i just got off the phone with zzperformance, my order is in. the guy i spoke with wasnt too sure about the whole alero thing but he did say i will either get the pcm or my money back. im pretty confident i'll be getting the pcm. also, he said the main guy to talk to at zzperformance about dhp is tim, but he is at nationals this weekend.

I will be down at Norwalk all weekend. So, I will try to talk to these guys down there. Hopefully we can still do something about this even though the group buy was supposed to end today...

Okay, I talked to zoomer this weekend. He gave me the same speech as everyone else. Once he gets the word from DHP he will let scatman know. However, since he seemed a little annoyed with the situation, I went over and met the guys from Intense. They might be able to help us out should this deal fall through.

bah, I know some people don't like 'em, but you can't believe everything you read. I was talking to a buddy of mine in my car club and mentioned the fact that there is alot of negative opinions about Intense and he just laughed. He has used DHP and Intense and found that Intense has worked alot better with his package. Plus the customer service is WAY better. The biggest problem with this current group buy is that DHP is dragging their feet getting back to ZZP with the info, and it doesn't sound like this is the first time they have been lazy when it comes to serving their customers.

I finally got a reply back from Charles at DHP. Here it is:

" we could do these ,but they would be BETA. IF they didn't wokr right the first time, we'd update them. But it needs to be very clear to people it might need a flash or two to get it perfected. With that said, we'll do them, but people need to have some level of understanding and patience as I don't want to honor a gropu buy rate only to get my ass handed to me if someone has a problem initially .

As far as "problems" would go, nothing catastrpophic, but maybe something simple / stupid like fan turn on gets missed or we map that wrong. The timing and fuel stuff is normally easy to find....

We would need VIN #'s from any one ordering.

I replied back telling him I was still interested and would let the other guys know who took part in the group buy.

Let me know what you guys think and I will be the contact point if we decide to proceed. On a side note, I have already mentioned to Charles I thought the Aleros were mapped. Mentioned mfuller's trip to DHP specifically so we will see what he says next. Post you thoughts/decisions and hopefully this can move forward at a decent pace.

i dont see what the big f***in deal is, we are not the first aleros to get the damn pcm from dhp! i still havent heard back from zzp about my order and the money is still gone from my account....if i cant get the group buy rate then i dont really want it at this point. im not worried about them not getting it right the first time, im worried about them pulling their head out of their ass and realizing they have the info for our cars so their should be no need for mapping. argh.

I apologize, but i was out on vacation and was not able to answer my helpdesk
tickets.

Tell zoomer that i said its ok for him to take the alero orders (6 cylinders.
(not sure if there are 4cylinder aleros but just in case, NO ! ) ...

I will need VIN # for each vehicle and if possible the hardware # on the pcm
itself.

ok well i got a voicemail from some clown at zzperformance on friday saying that dhp doesnt offer an alero pcm and that they were cancelling my order and refunding my money.......that really chapped my ass.

i just talked to tim at zzperformance, they are NOT going to sell us the pcm. they say that dhp is "a hard company to work with" and "we dont want to deal with a hundred phone calls a day about the alero pcm not working." i should have my money back by tomorrow at the latest.

looks like i'll be going thru pfyc.com........
