Mounting Depth Of Fronts

Hey guys

I did a search but didnt come up with much.

So those of you who installed a 6 1/2 in the front location, what was the mounting depth of the speaker.

My plan is to make a 1/2 MDF baffle to mount the speaker in. The over all bottom mounting depth of the speaker is 2.6378 in, if we take into account the baffle then it will only be 2.1378 in.

Any Idea if this will work?

Just put some 6.5 PG Octane ZRs in this weekend, and they fit great had about 1/2" MDF and untightend the bolts that were around it to give a little extra space.... However mine were a little bit thicker than your speakers. You shouldn't have to much of a problem, other than the normal crap when doing custom projects... The only thing I had a problem was, mounting the tweaters.. ended up being a PITA!!!

OH! Also, make sure you check how far they stick out, so they don't bump the door panel when you put them back on.

I wont be doing the install, my old system was ripped off by some f***ers, so this is all gonna be covered by my insurance.

Ill be putting the rest of the system together myself, I just dont have the time to do it before my trip. and I need some tunes for the drive.

I just wanted to know so there isnt any hitchs with the install at the shop, so It will go smoothly, and ill have my car back on time.
