Please Help Me!! Gauge Wiring Question

I was looking to see if anyone wired their gauges through their dimmer switch instead of the light in the center console? If anyone has done this and can explain to me how they wired it up I would greatly appreciate it so that I know what wires to connect to. My inverter has a black (negative) and red (positive) wires. Im assuming that I can ground the black negative wire to a screw and then tap into one of the wires off the harness that plugs into the dimmer. I just need to know which wire or if it matters? Any help is appreciated.

If it wouldn't be a huge problem I would greatly appreciate it. Im pretty sure I can ground it to any screw, but just need to know which wire to tap the positive red wire into.
