Different Motor
Ok, so I was suppose to be getting a 3400 from a 01 GAGT, but somehow it sold before I got it. Now, I still got a motor for the same price and warranty, but it's out of a 05 GAGT. Both motors have the around the same mileage at 60,000. I would like to have the metal gaskets put in but my main question is, is there any really big differences in the motors, from the 01 in mine to the 05.

If the intake's on the same side, no
If it's a 3400 SFI American motor, it will have the 03 LIM, which is slightly better than the 00, and much better than the 99

Look at the date code on the LIM, my '03 has an LIM coded 00, meaning 2000. It only has 25,000 miles on it, but it does have a "slight" LIM gasket leak, which for the time being is not too big a problem. I still should upgrade to the improved gasket kit. If you ever go boosted, any problem with the LIM gasket will get real bad, real quick.

00 and 03 manifolds are the same. 2003+ have 8mm rockers, and some 02. Older than that are 10mm (unless its an equinox, which could still have 10mm to this day which is odd).

thats cause the 3400 in the Equinox an Torrent aren't an LA1. they're a japanese variant with throttle by cable and the intake on the other side.
