My light was on and my cousin checked the code and is was the P1404, has anyone else had this code b4 cause we put in a new egr valve and that didn't fix the problem. I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

I had that code once before, although it had nothing to do with my EGR valve......I had melted the electrical harness for my primary O2 sensor on my header downpipe.

Thanks Matt, by chance was your car under warranty when it was fixed, cause mine is, I just don't know if it will be covered or not and my dealership charges 80 for the test to get the code, then whatever it costs to fix, but if my warranty covers it then it will all be covered, but I willn't know until they pull the code.
So its a chance I really don't wanna take.

Sorry if that's confusing.

My SES light was on for about a month. I had the code checked and it turned out to be the O2 censor in the front. There are two of them. One in the front and back. The front one has a heater attached to it for cold start-ups. I wasn't under warranty and it cost me about $300. Be sure and ask the garage to check to see which one it is or they might try and change both.
