ac clutch question

Ok so I did a bit of research for this and found nothing, but can anyone tell me if the ac clutch is supposed to disengage at high rpms or is this a sign of it going bad? This is for my sisters 2004 grand am gt, she has been having issues with the ac bfc fuse blowing. We replaced the relay and it seems to have solved the issue but we noticed under high rpm that the ac clutch disengages and I just wanted to know if it was supposed to do that or does it need to be replaced, thanks in advance.

it does disengage at higher rpm i believe its 4100 or 4300 rpm, they did that so you cant over rev the compressor and blow it up

Yep he's right, they do cut out under a high rpm load. However something is causing that fuse to blow. I can't help with that because I'm no technician. But DO NOT put in a bigger fuse... Unless you want to pay for some extensive wiring repair!

I got the fuse to quit blowing, it was a bad relay, it wouldn't stay closed while powered, thx again for the info guys, I thought that it was supposed to do that but just wanted to make sure.
