Rear Sway Bar From A GAGT?

Are these any stiffer/thicker than an Alero with the FE2 suspension? There are a few GAGTs near me in a junkyard and I was thinking of swapping them.

What about a Alero with the FE3 suspension? Did they have a stiffer/thicker rear sway bar?

Nope, the same rear swaybar was used on all Aleros and Grand Ams.
An Alero with FE3 suspension (and GAGTs) gets a solid front swaybar, while other carsget a hollow bar of the same diameter.

How do I know what suspension I have?

Check the RPO codes on the underside of your spare tire cover.
FE2 is the Ride and Handling suspension, FE3 is the Sport suspension.

Is there a difference (noticeable) between FE2 and FE3? I have a Malibu so I'm guessing mine is hollow...

It's been so long since I've driven a car with stock suspension, so I honestly couldn't say.

As far as I can tell all Malibus have the minimal rear sway bar. Luckily all N-body suspension parts are interchangeable. Personally I have a set of the Addcos and have been VERY impressed with the handling improvement. Yes, it is stiffer but works very well combined with the Eibach springs and KYB struts. Don't forget to get a good set of strut braces as well...

Malibu's are smaller than the GAGT then? I may look at this next time I'm at the JY...the rear doesn't seem half as hard to change as the front...

I'm also itching to do the GP GTP rear control arms/lateral arms but am not sure what to do if I mess something up!
