I've even used the 41-101 plugs in a Gen 2 engine (87-94) with no issues at all..

The DIS system will work fine with copper plugs (eg. ACDelco R44LTSM6). They just don't have as long of a service life.
It's usually the single platinums (and most bosch platinums) that get pwn3d by the waste-spark.
