replacing PS steering hoses and PS pump valve

Hi folks,
its been quite a while since I posted.

But now I got a mean little problem.

My pressure hose is 'sweating' and pulsating heavy if the wheel is turned.

So it time to change em. Any Part numbers?
Are there any gasket or O-rings that should be changed, too?

but it seems like I got another steering system. Cause I have a cooler too.

Another thing.

Number 11 should be a valve.
IIRC I read something about a wrong valve installed during manufacturing. But cant find anything to relate that problem with my Euro Alero.
Would this cause a really easy and loose steering feel?

Thanks in advance

Julian

did this about a month ago the high pressure hose was leaking pretty heavy so i had to replace it.....i went to a salvage yard and pulled a used one......didnt have to change any orings or seals(if you buy a new one it should have all the seals u need to replace and that should just be on the fitting itself) the hardest part is running the hose down the back of the engine and back through the original holes the bolts are 16mm and 18mm undo the hose at the pump and remove it and u will see a tiny oring around the fitting thats the one that will be replaced and they should be included with your new hose.......the pictures are difeffult toget but in the top one you will need 5 and 8 those are your o rings and in the bottom picture 8 will be your oring.....the valve shouldnt even come out

thanks

About the valve. I just read somewhere that there are problems with the the wrong valve being installed while on the assembly line, I just wanted to check if this mismatched valve could cause a loose and / or too easy feeling in the steering (wheel).

You wouldnt happen to know if the later 4cyl cars have the same hoses??? cause there is one wrecked Alero on the other end of Germany - perhaps I'll give it a try. But most times, its cheaper to get new stuff from the US.

the hose on a 4cyl will be made for a diffrent psi so it work and the motors and rack and pinion are set up diffrent so the hose would be bent diffrent so yea go with a new one.....and ive never heard nething about the bad valves the only problems i have had are my hoses ive replace them both and a pump twice so ive had plenty of ps problems

like which type to use....i always buy power steering fluid its bottled and labeled as power steering fluid...there are some with stop leak and other additives but the regular fluid works fine....you can also use transmission fluid if its all you have
