you have to disable the air bag before you pull your stock wheel off...and I think I'm going to quit posting in these threads now, for fear of getting banned

I think that you should research more before buying a steering wheel and see how much everything will cost before you jump into a project also who is going to install this. Do u know how to take out the airbag and clockspring and reset the clockspring. u can injure ur self badly if you do not know what u are doing by setting off the air bag . How much is that steering wheel that u posted. also what is ur price range.

you need to get a steering wheel puller, or even a 3 jaw puller will work. have to remove all of the trim pieces and then you disconnect the air bag and pull the wheel off with the puller.
you then get the correct hub adapter, i think i used a 96-02 full sized chevy truck hub adapter or something along the lines of that. then its really just following the instructions from the new steering wheel manual. make sure you get the matching brands hub adapter as you cannot mix these because of the mounting holes for the new wheel.

****you will have an air bag light on your gauges after doing this***

Changing to a smaller steering wheel will not make much of a difference in steering as you might think. It looks good but driving without airbags might also be against your state law / insurance company. What needs to be changed is the steering ratio and since there is no rack kit that i know of... you would have to do a custom job.

If all you want is a change in appearance, and don't care about insurance / laws, do the change with care and definitely disconnect your battery first.

My advice to you.....

Put down the Civic catalog, stop watching the fast and the furious, step away for your dad's tool box, and call it a day

Yes removing the air bag (SRS system) is illegal

start with mods that will help ur car like exhaust, rims, lowering springs, headers. keep the car clean looking. you do not need an aftermarket steering wheel. you do not even have the right tools to take off a steering wheel. people may seem harsh sometimes but it for the best you want your car to look nice not like a ricer or someone who does not car about there car. There are a lot of people on this site that know a lot you can learn a lot from them. I know i did.
