quick question

hey everybody...

so i was reading on ecotecpower.com and found a interesting thread

http://www.ecotecpower.com/forums/re...910&t=6910&p=1

basically they are talking about how the ecotec ecu can tell the difference between 87 and 91 octane gas and changes the timing for the engine depending on what your running resulting in better gas mileage and more power...

anyone verify this with the alero ecotecs... of if this is even true?

dont think our PCM's recognize it...

try it though, keeps stuff cleaner, and prevents detonation

Sure, but would it be enough of a difference for a human to notice, or to add up to any real monetary savings? I highly doubt it...

Gas never made a difference on my eco, only the type of driving. I get 22 or so in the city, and 30-35 highway, depending on speed.
