that is what i was thinking. just go out to your car and measure it. i know it can be a lot of work but come on beside the part of the hood that is lifted it is about the same as stock.

yea...
Well on another note do you actually need the hardener stuff that comes with bondo or can you just let it set. Will it eventually dry up and get hard...I mean that stuff just speeds up the process right

with out the harder the bondo never knit and you won't be able to sand it.

bondo comes with a hardner for a reason. use it like the directions tell ya.

but if you want to short cut i'll be more than happy to laugh when it screws up.

the cowl on the hoods made by CrazyTaxi are roughly 17" wide. Depends on where you measure it. It sort of tapers down towards the front. IIRC, it's 19" closest to the windshield and 17" at the leading edge. (It's been a whole 4 months since I've even seen a tape measure in my mess of a home...so I can't recheck. lol sorry

Thanks dude....Im gonna go measure mine right now...(finally stopped raining after a whole week) Do you know how tall they were (crazytaxi's)

My only problem will be finding a fiberglass cowl, all the ones i've seen are plastic and plastic is a pita to mold on and the edges will mess up after a while.

I don't KNOW for sure, but if I had to estimate, 2.5" to 3" is the ballpark. if you're doing the custom work, why not do something completely different?

Also, you know how many people have Aleros, right? Why not bring a tape measure to the grocery store and start measuring a random one, if you don't have yours. lol

the cowl is 2" tall just like the rk sport cowl hood.

if you really look at the stock you will see the stock bump in the hood and the starts where the bump does and then flares out at the back by 2"
