I don't think you will be able to see them if you paint them black so i think you should leave them silver!

Leave em alone, they will only get chipped up by rocks and crap. To much hassle to repaint. Plus it looks like it will match the car better.

go for some contrast and paint them black. Use some of that spray on bedliner/underbody stuff to keep them from chipping.

Peer pressure won. Actually I think it looks better this way as well. Manufacturers should be doing this from the factory.

I got the grills from customcargrills.com. I did modify the center section a bit so that it will fit in there.

That's fine. It is protecting some of my key parts that were wide open to stones and it looks cleaner because you don't see the bare metal.
