First disconnect the battery.

Then if you look in the side fuse panel on the passenger side there is where the wire is connected, disconnected.

Then you will need to remove the glove box.

After that is out remove the two bolts at the base of the air bag, and lift out. It is really pretty simple.

Thanks for the help Jonez, by disconnecting the wire do you mean removing the fuse or taking out the actual wire (may be stupid to ask but rather be safe and clear on this than sorry)

Clarification... According to haynes...

Above the passenger fuse box disconnect the two pin electrical connector (yellow harness). Then remove the two screws you can see when you take out the glove box and your all set.

If you don't mind me asking, why are you replacing your dash?

Replacing dash due to run in with some string neon lights that went bad, its all messed up n looks like shyt, so i decided to go back to all stock for now till i get some custom fabricating done on the second set of trim pieces I have so then I can turn the car into a show car....junk yard sold me the dash minus the air bag for $100, got the entire set of trim for $40 as well...was shocked two different junk yards each had 5 aleros in their stock! but most had already been torn apart or were too damaged to get much else other than trim pieces...
