Jack Stands

After further review, I found out that its a bad idea to use jack stands from the 60's.....As I was working on my wheel bearing, one of the jack stands I was using decided to retire while I was working on it. Thank god, that the little stool I was using caught on to the front quater panel keeping it from crashing on me. After jacking it back up, and changing my undies, one of the supports for the stand was rusted and broke. Good news is, after 5 hours, 10 busted and bloodied knuckles, my freakin wheel bearing is done!

Too bad its the other side that is the crappy one. Why does my car hate me?

Drinkin time!

whoooaaaa, i wouldnt have let the jack down and just let the car sit on the stands. I always keep my car jacked up, then i put stands under it just incase the jack decides to come down. LOL i would neverrrrrr trust my car on JUST jack stands

i had my scissor jack do the same thing on me. (factory one) it folded in half and the car fell onto the rotor. after the initial panic was gone, i went out and got a new better jack. and now i have jack stands as well.

Beside jackstands, I place a wooden support that I made out of 2x4's under the car also. When I don't have to work on the wheels I use ramps. Glad to hear you weren't hurt Utar.
