Is the hood funtional ??? Does it rought the air to the air filter, or is it just for looks ?? I'd be more intrested in a fiberglass hood then a carbon fiber one.

the cowl allows air in, but i wouldnt say it's routed anywhere. it's mostly for looks and weight reduction.

just curious why you would want fiberglass over cf?

It seems to me that there are 3 reasons for this hood

1. Carbon Fiber weighs much less than Steel
2. Allows more air to move throught the engine bay thus keeping it cooler
3. Looks damn good.

First off, I really don't know a whole lot about carbon fiber. Can it be painted too match the rest of the car with out anyone being able to tell it's not steel from looking at it ??? I like the cowl hood, I think it'd look really good on a Alero. I just don't care for the different color you see on alot of the ricer cars (White car, black hood)

yes carbon fiber can be painted all it really is fiberglass
it will take allot of work because c/f is more pouress then f/b, but to answer your question yes it can

there wont be any need for hood pins....this hood will be strong enough for you to mount your factory hood latch and prop rod. although im not sure about the C/F, but i know the F/B hood will be strong enough

Maybe Crazy can confirm that

far as using hood struts........

they can not be used. they use another bracket that is spot welded in 4 places and being that this is where the strut mounts too for the top. there is no way to get this on either the glass or cf hood. so those of us with the struts have really no choice.

the glass and cf will use the stock latches. far as hood pins well that would be a added cost if they would do that. but i would recommeend doing yourself that way you can put them where you want rather than have to make special brackets to get the pin part where the pins are that is if they put them in a decent part.

If you want hood pins than you will have to do this yourself. I'm sorry, but, this is being done as a prop rod hood as oldsman said. I should have that 'for sure' price on the CF tommorrow after I get home from work.
