foot well lightß

I was at the salvage yard and was looking at a 99 alero and noticed that the foot wells have lights. So I got the light sockets that were in that car and as much wire I could get. My question is how do I wire them up on my 01 that doesn't have them. Thanks

Just hook em into a grey wire from the cubby light, dash lights, whatever. The grey wires are set to provide power when the headlights are on (night time)

the foot well lights only come on when the doors are open or when you turn the dimmer switch all the way up. hooking it up to a grey wire will keep them on all the time when the headlights or running lights are on. i'm almost positive all Alero's came with courtesy lights in the foot wells.

I know where the lights would be located. I lookes at a wiring diagram and it looks like it runs to the left drivers side fuse box. I just gotta get the multi meter and find the circuit

Good call, I was just thinking because in my car I wanted some dim ones that are on all the time, but that's custom. And mine doesn't have them.

when looking for the circuit, remember that the lights that come on when the door opens are all ground side switched.

What in the world....there's no such thing as a GL4, whoever printed that sticker must have been on crack.

I'm really not sure, because one setup would be a GX, and the other would be a GL1.

GL4 is a factory option package offered in 2001 that was basically the only time you could get a twin-cam with a leather interior.

It was dubbed the "spring special edition"
