some questions
what is the OD size for the ecotec tb?
what would be the ID size for the coupling that connects to the tb?
what would be the ID size for the coupling that connects to tubing that is 3" OD?

I haven't actually looked but from what I gather the OD size is 2.25". Let me get back to you on that.

if the tb was to be that size then what size coupling should i get

Well, If the piping has an OUTSIDE diameter of 3", and you want an elastic coupler ( rubber ) that'll fit on the OUTSIDE of that, than the INSIDE diameter of the coupler should be 3" or just a tad smaller ( 2 15/16" ) for a snug fit. just a guess.... Anyone else care to make a suggestion? I've got a 3.4, but I'd like to help the guys with the 4's find a cheaper CAI solution..... B)
