Never had a starting problem in the coldest days or the hottest days...in fact many people have commented on how trouble free the ecotec starts in extreme weather. I think it might be one of the two suggestions from the others here.

yeah i've seen ppl fire up 2.2 sunflowers in like -40 without being plugged in. Guarranteed it's not healthy but they do it. try doing that with something else and u can watch it die about as fast as u can turn the key.

I have what may be the same problem- allow me to be more specific-

Hard start engine warm- AFTER the car has been sitting a half hour or so-there seems to be a 'heat sink' effect. Does not happen if I turn it off and start it up within the 1st ten minutes or so.

After sitting for 30 or more minutes, the ecotec takes a good 5-6 seconds to turn over.

Same for you?

I took it to the dealer, and they could not trace it down.

Never a problem like that, warm, hot, cold, nevr had it not start. I never plug the car in during the winter here in Toronto, starts just fine everyday.

When drag racing my car is driven hard for 2 or so runs, then sit for 30 minutes to an hour, never a problem starting.
