under the car, by gas tank, silver canister with a rubber hose going in one end and a metal line on the other end

Now how hard it is to change? do I have to depressorize the fuel lines at the fuel rail on this car like you are suppost to on the 3.4 liters I have a 2.4 liter.

no need to depressurize, just make sure the car isn't running when you do it lol. use an oil drain pan or something to catch the little bit of gas that will come out. One end is a little tough as the connector is hard to get out. I used the swear-puch-pry-cut-cuss method. But pliers should suffice

What are the chances of it being under a big heat shield nere the gas tank becuase I still cant seem to find it

htere could be a heat sheild ther but its very doubtfull. if you have a 4 door car. go under one of the doors and look towards the rear. you will see it theres a little tunnel between the gas tank and the trucnk and you will see it.
if you dont find it. look under your car for fuel lines and follow those till you find itl.

Yeah I found it, its up in there pretty good nere a big black box thingy which I have no idea what that is.

i think yer wired for gps so they know when yer not wearing yer seatbelt..

yea i know what hes talking about.......it looks kinda like a charcoal cannister that is on my brothers accord......
o and about the depressurize thing, just open your gas filler cap, that gets out any remaining pressure in the system......

there is a great how-to by pfyc.com on how to replace your fuel filter. I have to replace mine every few months. Very durty gas over here. issed:
