2.4 Liter Oil Capacity

I have a 2.4 liter motor the manual says its oil capacity is 4 quarts but when I put in 4 quarts it says it is a quart low then I add a 5th quart it says it is full. Is this normal for the 2.4 liters?

4.5 quarts is what i always put in, never had a problem

I dont see why my dip stick is off or maby my oil pan had been replaced by the first owner. But it defenitly says it needs a quart after putting in 4 and says it is full at 5 quarts.

^^ Have that checked out. If the pan has been replaced with a different size.

The book says 4.5 on the 3.4 and that's excatly what mine takes
