I need to figure out what amp is best for use with the Eclipes SW6103DVC Dual Vioce Coil or the SW6103.4

Specs, both are same for both subs.

The chioce is those subs either the DVC one or the regular SW6103.4 what one should I get? I dont know if I wanna have to deal with wiring the Dual Coil, or what ever you gotta do extra to it.

The amps are the PA4212 and the PA5422, which one will be the best? I have been told that the PA5422 is better and would match those sub choice perfectly but it only has low pass crossover on the rear channels and I guess it would be better if it had front and back low pass crossovers? thats what mikegett said, but I am just getting kinda confused

PA4212 Specs:
# 310W 2 Channel Max. Power Output at 2
# 200W 2 Channel 0.1% THD at 2 Stereo,
20–20,000Hz@13.8V
(RMS Continuous Power)
# 130W 2 Channel 0.1% THD at 4 Stereo,
20–20,000Hz@13.8V
(RMS Continuous Power)
# ChannelFlex Crossover
Adjustable Low-Pass Crossover
(12dB/octave, 50–200Hz)
# Subsonic Filter (20Hz Fix)
# Free-Flow Signal Circuit
# Double-Sided PCB
# High-Current, High-Speed Output Devices
# High-Efficiency, High-Energy MOSFET Power Supply
# Audiophile Grade Component Selection
# Intelligent 7-Way Discrete Protection Circuitry
# Music Reproduction with Low Distortion & Ultra-Low Negative Feedback
# Efficient Cooling with Low-Profile Heatsink
# Multi-Mode Configuration
# Stereo/Mono Switch
# 2 Stable Design

PA5422 Specs:
# 200W 4 Channel Max. Power Output at 2
# 120W 4 Channel 0.1% THD at 2 Stereo,
20–20,000Hz@13.8V (RMS Continuous Power)
# 85W 4 Channel 0.1% THD at 4 Stereo,
20–20,000Hz@13.8V (RMS Continuous Power)
# ChannelFlex Crossover High-Pass Crossover (12dB/octave, 120Hz)
Adjustable Low-Pass Crossover
(12dB/octave, 50–200Hz)
Adjustable Pre-Out High-Pass Crossover
(12dB/octave, 50–200Hz)
# Subsonic Filter (0–50Hz)
# Free-Flow Signal Circuit
# Double-Sided PCB
# High-Current, High-Speed Output Devices

Wiring up a dual voice coil sub takes about 30 seconds..... + to + - to - so you can run it at a lower ohm load....simple. Take one wire, connect the positives, one wire and connect the negatives, then take one wire from each positive and negative into the amp and you are set......dont choose not to get a DVC sub just because of the wiring. If it was me I would get two dual 4ohm subs, and 1ohm stable amp to maximize my power and money! We sell eclipse where I work, great product.

Would you guys suggest getting the DVC sub or the normal one if I got the PA4212 amp? They both cost the same, but I am worroed about the smaller amp power the DVC.

I've been told that if I buy a Low pass Crossover then the best chioce would be the PA5422 becuase of its power and then the DVC subs.

The dual voice coil option for these subs is 4+4. The 4212 is a four channel amp that is 2 ohm stable (stereo only). 2, dual voice coil subs would have to be wired in series bridged (giving you 8 ohms) and 120 watts rms to each sub. 2 single 4 ohm subs can be briged on each pair of channels giving you 240 watts rms to each sub and maxing out at 400 per sub.
The 4212 is a 2 channel. Two, 4+4 dual voice coils can be wired in series and then in paralell to get a 4 ohm bridge. This will produce 200 watts rms for each sub but maxes out at 300 watts per sub.
I believe his main question is in regards to the low pass and high pass crossover. The four channel only has low pass on one set of inputs. The other set has high and low pass filters. The 2 channel will have a low pass as well. The problem is that the HU he plans to buy will not have a crossover on the sub.

I posted the wrong model numbers above. The 5422 is the four channel so it would require the single voice coils. The 4212 is the two channel and would require the dual voice coil.

I sent you a PM mikegett, pretty much saying I think I dont wanna deal with the Crossover and the extra money I would have to spend. So I think I will be getting the 4212 and the DVC subs even though in my pm I put the Single coil sub, but now you say they wont work so I guess I gotta go with the DVC one.

Get one of the cheaper eclipse head units....they still have a 5v preout, and the best source impedance on the market. They are by far the best head units made. I think that they start around 199 and go up from there. I'd spend around 250 and get one with a motorized face though

I kinda already payed for the amp and subs. And BTW my decision was for the PA4212, and 2 DVC Subs. I will only be under powering them by 100 watts each, so it should still be window shaking but maby not earthquaking.

You just saved me some money, I think I will order it now and get everything run in the car before the rest of it shows up.

The P3 stuff that they sell is very good quality for the price. I'm rather impressed with the P3 stuff I have.
