And no, the wing wouldn't do BlackJack any good either since it's FWD. No how much you're running. So no matter how you do the math, Rear Downforce-inducing wing + FWD = GAY.
|
normally, I'd agree, but it does help prevent oversteer at 120mph and up. However, it is still gay on a lightly modified street Alero.

Bottom line is, I say jack that thing up high and display it proudly if that's who you are, just dont expect to be taken seriously here. Carbon fiber only has a place on pure show cars and pro race cars (when you know how to use it properly). Other than that, Cisco has it right, it just says "poser".
now, about my stock rims and oldsmobile center caps....just like the rest of my car, all stock.

Sometimes I wonder if people devise these threads just to see the reactions they get, and what the thread develops into. Like a case study for university for something.
I've had my Alero no more than two weeks, and now that I own one, I realize how many are actually out there. I have a desire to make mine different, but I would never consider a huge wing. I saw a fat girl driving the exact same car as mine. kinda depressing.

Making the car rear wheel drive? lol. So I would spend all the money to modify the chassey to allow for a drive shaft that would be accessable to the rear? Lmao, then i would be better off, saving money and buying a Z where then u guys whouldnt laugh at me about the wing. I just want to be differnet with my alero. anyways, I like the wing. I'll let u guys be the judge after I throw it on and put up pictures.

wooo...hellz no......
There's only three kinds of people I see around here driving them.
kids who's parents bought them one (used) because it was cheap
middle aged black couples with 12 kids (because it's cheap)
and elderly white couples trying to think that they're still driving the traditional Oldsmobile.
guess I'm odd man out.

That's me
Too bad it was 8 grand from a dealership.
I kinda want to see this though. Make sure when you get it on to keep it LOW. Not high at all. I'm talking like Razzi wing low. If you do it right it might be decent.

I'm an oddball according to BlackJack's list too. I needed a freakin car BAD and after I test drove a neon (brand new 2003, non-SRT), a used Escort, and a new RSX, I went with the Alero. It's cheaper than the RSX, drives a WHOLE LOT nicer than the neon, and eff Ford.

yep my alero cost.. lets see.. nothing?
but it didnt run!
the guy had locked up the engine or something b/c it was leaking oil and he let it run out.. it was a HUGE repair, my dad fixed it,(engine rebuild-maybe thats why he still runs like new?) then the guy dissapeared. He still owed money on it to other people but oh well, we pulled a lein on it and swallowed the bill. It was the only car we actually have kept on a lein. I had the choice of my alero or a '99 lexus sedan.. The alero was more fun to drive so i picked him! =) But this was.. oh.. 4 years and 60,000 miles ago. lmao. Even if we didnt get this car on lein my dad would likely have bought me an Alero, he liked them a lot when we rented one in Florida back in '99.
