it is a 215/60/15, i've seen them in person, that is what he drives on a daily basis for weight savings, they are lightweight 15" rims off a malibu....

17x8 +29.5 offset, they sat out just a hair too much, that's why my new rims are 17x8 with a +32 offset

Those gunmetal Wedsports you have right? Those are some nice wheels!
I'm going with 18x8.5 +38 with some 255/35 tires. They should sit nice and flush, but if they do stick out, I'll just pull the fenders out a little.

yep, the wedsports, you think 8.5" are really necessary, i mean, the 8" would definately be lighter.......

The orange brown color you're seeing is just leftover beach sand. I can probably get some better pics on a day when I can catch some daylight.

It's only a half inch, and there's some pretty light rims in that size. I'm not worried about getting the lightest rims known to man, but lightweight is definitely a must. Plus there are some 8.5" wide rims have that slightly concave face to them, which I like the looks of

17s are better if you want good launches, well 15s are best, but 17s are a good compromise, your rims are 8" which rims do you have?

I've heard awesome things about Ecsta AST's. They're supposed to be a high performance all season.
