Learn to change it yourself dude, buy a jack (if you actually need one), and a simple socket and wrench set, lol.

depending on if there are sales on changes, there are times when you can get it changed for cheaper than you can change it yourself

95% of the time where i live its cheaper to buy the oil and filter and change it yourself! But it also depends on the type of oil your running..

spending the extra money in THAT case is good issuance its done right. and if something fails like a loose drain plug or double gasketed oil filter, then you only have yourself to blame.

Get GM coils if you want the best. Wires don't do anything unless yours are bad. MSD coils don't last long either so I don't use or sell them.

And now this performance thread is all about the cost of changing oil.

Ben:
What are your thoughts on heat shielding for the fuel rail and fuel lines in the engine compartment? Worthwhile or waste?

Yosemite Sam mud flaps look better on the car than fuel line heat shields. No one can see those under the hood.

I think he was wondering if it would help gain anything by shielding the fuel rail?

Ok so i planned on getting the port/polished LIM & UIM,bigger tb, probably gonna run bigger injectors too. Ive already got headers,no converter, and 2-1/2" exhaust, and a wai. hat sized cam would you recommend for a mainly street driven car but being on the track once a month??

It depends on what your idea of decently high horsepower is. Outside of that.
1. GM FWD is a nearly non existant race class for which results will drive a market.
2. 60V6 is not the factory performance engine for the more expensive platforms.
3. The aftermarket was nearly non existent until ~2005
4. No factory performance support other than Gen 1 60V6.

I was thinking 350hp or higher. I keep reading where people are having a hard time hitting even 300 NA,but not hard at all with the ecotec
