i have a 2001 olds alero
and for some reason i have a ruff idle i had the iak checked out that was fine i replaced my k&n filter to a standard filter but nothing changed.
i think it could be an o2 sensor or idle control sensor.

it could be those 2 things and also your TPS. sometimes it is hard to pin point without it being scanned.

i had changed the fuel filter last year .
i have had it scanned by goodyear but i think since i was doinging it under warranty they didnt really check for much.
but took it to my brother n laws shop and they couldnt really find anything either.
i also had them check out the a/c pump because it makes a real bad vibration when i have the a/c on.
so thats where i am at.they really couldnt find anything wrong with the a/c pump but i think that is the clutch going out.
but back to the ruff idle i have took it to a few shops but they cant figure out anything but maybe try to replace the fuel filter again i guess start some where again.
