I have a 2003 four door alero with the 3.4 v6. I was recently in a accident and had to have my rear bumper replaced. After one week of getting the car back I wanted to give my baby a good wash and wax. To my suprise the clear coat on the car was coming off. This was not the portion of the car that had recently been repainted but the factory portion. I was extremely suprised considering that the car was only eleven months old. Gratefully, the warranty is covering the maintenance needed to repaint the car. Has anyone else had any problems with the clear coat on there vehicles?

Being a 2003 the car's exterior finish is under warranty for the first 12mo/12000miles. You might want to check into that. And get it documented now that way when it keeps happening they will keep fixing it.

well factory paint back in the early 80`s to 90`s was coming off due to water based sealer and polyuarthane base coat didn`t mix
your problem is simple, car was repainted before i will bet on it
gm either uses ppg or dupont, trust me car was repainted
