Carbon Fiber Bezel Install?????

I was reading the how to, and it says that you have to bend the carbon fiber piece to get it in???

I thought you just had to place it on the existing black bezel....so there is TWO plastic covers you have to remove...man that effing sucks! DO we have to cut the piece with a dremel tool...it looks like it would just sit on the existing black bezel and thats it?????

I dont want to fork up my dash....I will probally not do this mod then

does it replace the old bezel entirely, or just cover it? I would think it takes the place of the stock bezel.. which means it -should- pop right into place..

hell, take it apart and tinker with it.. see if you cant get it in there- that's what I'd do

and if it fails.. just put it back together and seek some more help.

yeah I think I will. If it seems too hard, I will just leave it stock until I can get some more help.

It is not worth cracking or ruining my dash

dremel the gauge cluster apart along the siliconed spot and place it in. then resilicone it

Damn I guess I should have made it a little more clear.

THe CF gauge bezel just covers the stock one! That's wh y you have to bend it to get it through the existing plastic bezel, why would you have to squeeze it through there if it didn't stay there?

Do NOT dremel the gauge apart and do all that shit, makes a simple project harder and you risk effin up the entire assembly.

Dur that's exactly why you have to bend it to get it in, because the stock one remains there..

I dont know about other peoples instrument panels.. but mine comes completely apart in about 4 layers when fully disassembled.. and it all just pops back together like legos. its not even bolted into place.. its just sitting there. takes me about 2 minutes to pull it out, take it apart, put it all back together, and put it back in where it belongs.. and it doesnt move / shake / bounce around.

Guess it's gonna be easy for me to install one of these bezels

if anyone is interested i have a stainless one for sale on ebay for $7.99 I didnt feel like prying the clear plastic piece off.

where did you get the bezel from? and does anyone know where i can get the carbon fiber dash kit to cover the radio area like the OSV?

Damn man you even missed my post a few posts above this one showing exactly where you can get the bezel.

The dash kits they sell on eBay and you can find some on Google, but they're all just sticker overlays, not sure how well that works on the extremely rounded and contoured interior pieces.

Yeah you just really need to flex it in half and slide in threw the whole to get it on there. No need to cut or take apart anything.

good luck getting your hands on carbon fiber to begin with (depending on what you want to carbon fiber)

I'd think that the CF just replaces whatever you want it to.. like certain trim pieces, your bezel.. holy crap I just got an idea

Carbon Fiber headlight bezels.. I wonder what that would look like.

I used to have an aluminum bezel. While the CF will bend and fit through the gauge openings, the aluminum one will not. You have 2 choices, either dremel out a slot to slip it in, or do as I did and dremel out the entire stock piece, and replace it with aluminum. But for the cf, save yourself a lot of time by just slipping it through the opening.
