Middle of next week I'll have a wireless card installed and I should be able to pull in the driveway to access my home computer/internet and download software updates and new music to the hard drive in my car. The iBook is also hooked to a dock so it can be removed from the car in seconds.

I took it out for a test drive tonight for about an hour.
Every thing is working better than expected!!!!

Now all I have left ot do is wire the power inverter that is running my firewire HD and usb hub to a relay so it automatically turns on and off, and I also have to wire in the Kenwood siriurs receiver(still waiting for one last piece for this) .

This has to be the best mod I've done to the car by a mile.
to have my whole music collection at my fingertips plus a full featured turn by turn voice navigation system just rocks!! :thumbsup:

Umm, too much stuff rigged into the accesory circuit. I actuyally think it was the cigarette lighter adapter for the screen. When I'd plug it it it would spark and then blow a fuse.

But it's all wire off of my dist block for all my audio stuff and both the notebook car adapter and the adapter for the screen are fused and running off of a relay to turn them on when the ignition is turned to on. Pretty slick....

wow thats awsome. You have inspired me to start plans for a car PC. This is all stuff Iknow I can do, I build comps in my part time job. This really is freaking cool. The only part I would be worried about doing myself is the screen in the dash. I wil have to think about this. I have most of teh parts already...

^^^I didn't really want to do the screen myself but after looking up costs of having it professionally done I decided to tackle it, and it wasn;t really that bad. I did my research found out exactly what I needed to use and took my time.
