sc is the only avail. fd for 3400 unless some one is making a turbo kit as we speak.
and no the 3400 bottom end prolly won't hold 20psi of boost wo some modification
(any body feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

Welcome to the board. What chasis are you dropping the sr20 into? I assume an s-13? a buddy of mine has a couple of red tops and a chasis but lacks to time to work on it between work (building race spec vipers) and finishing the 600+HP DSM. He did want to drop an sr motor in my Z but IM holding out for an rb, maybe in the sentra :/ . anyways....The bottom end of an SR20DET was designed to take about 300HP not a certain amount of boost (since inter/after/comp controls/etc can seriously change the conditions in the engine). Springs I think has proven that the bottom end of the 3.4 will take close to that on a regular basis (10lbs daily) and he is the only one I know of developing a S/C for that engine. There are several options out there for FI for the 2.4 including an offering from GM. Good luck, let us know how everything turns out
