Check out this thread for pics of the 2.4 LD9 manifold:

http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.ph...=31310&t=31310

I just purchased a 2.4 manifold for my Cavalier and an Ecotec manifold for my Alero from Exploited Racing. The quality of the them is absolutely amazing. Brian who owns Exploited has been in the business for almost two years now. His first batch of manifolds ever made were horribly welded and were fabricated out of cast iron conduit. The new manifolds I believe are MIG welded and use marine grade stainless steel. Since Brian has been doing this for two years now, his welding abilities have vastly improved. Lots of guys in my j-body club have Brian's manifold and have not seen any problems develop with them.

actually Brian, TIG welds them now. a lot better weld. stronger and less warpage. so you will get a little better flow.

turbo is dyno'd at 190hp and alot cheaper than a v6 swap.

wait, that's not an additional 190hp, is it? or is that including the stock 150hp?
gee marc, you get that, and you might be able to pull all of your weight fast enough to compete with a stocker

IMO that is hella weak, esp for a stage 3 setup. Only like 35 HP over stock

The question should be is if that is 190whp. If so that would be a huge increase in power. Even if it isn't it is a 40 hp gain which isn't bad for a car starting at 150hp. Almost a 30% increase.

The problem is the pistons and rods in the 2.4 are relatively weak, so you can't turn up the boost too high without replacing those parts because they will break. 10psi is probably the max you should go if you want a stock 2.4 to last any length of time.

If you port & polish your head and/or add more aggressive cams, and/or add a less restrictive exhaust system and/or intake, then you can increase the horsepower significantly without spending as much as you would tearing down the engine and replacing the pistons/rods and bearings, since all those things help increase airflow. And when you upgrading those items (head, cams, intake & exhaust) when the engine is under boost, the increase in power is more dramatic than if your engine were naturally aspirated...

stage 3 kit would be 190 whp. but that would be with an intercooler. there are guys running 6lbs dynoing at 190 whp.

but yea, 10 psi would be max on stock internals.
