I found somebody that will sell me a set of heads for $60. Is this a good price? Is there anything that I need to look for when buying these? And how hard are new heads to put in? I have the infamous lower intake manifold gasket leak and figured that I would go ahead and port everything that I could in the process. I'm pretty confident that I can do the lower intake manifold gasket myself I'm just wondering how much harder it would be to go ahead and replace the heads also.

after you have the lower intake off the heads arent much more work
the exhaust manifolds or headers are all that left in place.
60 is good for heads but you need to know exactly what they came off of, how many miles are on them, and what happend to the rest of the engine.
I've seen 3400's bend valves before, yeah they heads would still be useable but they would take more work.
if you can check them out or take them toa machinest before buying this would not be a bad idea.
then you will know exactly how much work they will need

they came out of a 2000 grand am with 12000 miles on it. the way I understood it was that it got rear ended and got totaled out by insurance and the person I'm getting them from took them out at a junk yard
