ecotec's CAN be about 600-1000 hp, but I'm sure it's gonna take LOADS of money to do it. GM boasts the ecotec pushed 600hp using 85% stock parts (plus a wicked turbo system).
But nevermind that, I'm just proud that somebody pushed an N-body into the 12's

I believe they got it up to about 1400 horsepower actually. That must be a TON of boost. Things start breaking around 280 HP though.

Very nice times! As for anyone wondering about the Ecotec....there's a guy on Jbody.org with a built turbo Ecotec cavalier....he runs high 11's and it's daily driven.

yeah, the ecotecs love boost, out of the three engines in our cars the eco would probably gain the most power if you had the same amount of boost on all three, but dont quote me on that one, and from what i have been told they hold up to good amounts of psi with alot of stock parts, so basically an eco despite what people think, can basically have some major balls

Its kind of ironic...the ecotec initially got its name because it was intended for great fuel economy (which it gets) and normally fuel economy + performance aren't really on the same plane...kudos to GM for building a great engine

And don't forget if someone with an ecotec gets any bright ideas, we're all screwed.

Not worried about anyone with an ecotec getting any bright ideas....GM pretty much spilled most of the bright ideas in the tuner guide. I'm worried about someone with an ecotec getting the money and motivation to do it

Ya damn straight... I'm just waiting for the cash :heehee: :heehee: :heehee:
