make my 3400 gl2 better

what are some things nothing insane like rebuilding i can do to improve performance increase hp and run better to my 3400 alero? i got a kandn i replaced fuel filter i use synthetic i have a flowmaster 40 on order anything else i can do? any ideas are great thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
