if they get wet i don't want water in my engine and crap messing things up

what are the risks, IF installed correctly, of having a cai?

Any CAI runs the risk of sucking up water.

You could put a bypass valve on it.

Doc Speed don't make a CAI unless it for the V6. Only manufacture makeing CAI is Induction dynamic for the Ecotec and L4

Yes, a CAI runs the risk of getting water into the motor, only if you are a jackass and floor it in the rain. I don't accelerate hard at all in the rain, so I've never had a problem with Florida rains/hurricanes (yes, I drove around when Ivan was blowing through). I you are in an area where water sits in deep puddles on the road, a CAI would be bad. I had WAI at one point and I prefer the CAI. I did notice that my filter was wet on my WAI after I'd drive through rain storms. The hood is not perfectly sealed against water.

Again, I hate to disparage the name of a vendor for our parts, but Dr. Speed has disapeared. His site is still up, but he doesn't reply to any email, and he has been taken off the sponsor list on gagt. Check out this thread

Some ppl are reporting problems, some are saying they got their stuff right on time.

I just don't want to see anyone get ripped off. Perhaps email him before you order.

just get a wai and then you dont have to worry about the problem. i have had both also and I have to agree with formula in that i prefer the wai over the car also.
