Urethane bushings ??

I just wanted to know, because I searched for a long time and dit not find anything for the N-body... Is somebody doing urethane bushing for the front control arms of our cars ?? I asked to Mantapart but they never responded ?? Do somebody tried to see if the cavalier ones are the same, because I didn't ???
Because I need them really bad, my car hasn't even 60 000 miles but they are worning out rapidly due to the amount of torque they have to absorb on the launching (+400)

and I got racing slicks, sooo...
Anybody can help me out ??

Contact Mark @ MP Racing. He sells them. I bought a set from him. Haven't installed them yet though.

gm told me my control arm bushings are worn thats why car makes noise when the weight shifts side to side and he told me that i they cant change the bushings by themselves....so he was lying??

one easy trick to know if those bushings are busted, is to look at the one that look like a hockey puck, if it is beginning to get loose from the outside cup, then they are dead.... it is tough to see, you have to remove the wheel and check with a light to see it, it's the one in the frame...
that may be those bushings or maybe the end links bushings also

Who can't change the bushings themselves? Your local GM dealer? You need a hydraulic press to do it, but I don't see why a dealer wouldn't have that. Or did they say that YOU can't change them YOURSELF? That would make sense, unless you have a hydraulic press in your garage, and then I'm just envious

You might also want to look for a set of aluminum arms from a 1999 car and put the poly bushings in them.....nothing wrong with losing some weight. I have a set like this waiting to be bolted on.

No they told me that i would have to change the whole control arm because the bushings alone cant be changed...

that is a bunch of crap, the toyota dealership told my sister the same thing and they wanted like 900 for all new control arms, i just ordered some poly ones for her and did the swap over christmas in like 2 hours.......

oh and I have a hydraulic press in my shop.......when you are working on big equipment you gotta have one.....

my bushings are constantly creaking, regardless of how much I grease them... it stops for like a month if i hose them w/ lube.

i guess i'll have to look into this at some point. good to know that i can't do it myself.

wich cars in 99 had the aluminium control arms ??? just grand-ams or alero and malibus too ????, I didn't knew about that... thanks for the tips

I'm not sure if the 99 Malibu came with 'em. Mine came off a 99 Grand Am SE.

what about poly bushings for the rear control arms?

For the rear trailing arms you mean? None available that I've found. I just bought new rubber bushings for where they mount to the knuckles, but I wasn't even able to find replacement bushings for the trailing arm-to-body end. The exploded diagram available on gmpartsdirect shows it as being part of the trailing arm assembly, so I'm not even sure that bushing is replaceable on its own.

i'm assuming fe2 since they came off a grand am se but i may be wrong.......oh and if you aren't concerned about weight and more about stiffness and transfering power like me, you can modify some cavalier control arms to fit, i'll try and post some pics....
