Tweeters

Ok, I got a new set of Kenwood Tweeters earlier this week and I just got back in from installing one. I got the crossover all set up right and everything crimped and plugged in, but it really staticy. I can hear the music but there is still static coming through. What might the problem be?

My stock speakers were just static before I took them out and I thought it was because I blew them, but apparently I was wrong.

Alright scratch that, as i was getting no replys anyway. That problem is fine but as is my custom with my car I have a new unforseen problem.

Everything is connected fine, and I've double checked it several times. But when I turn on the car or the radio my tweeters won't come on unless I flick the sail panel. My rear deck did the same thing when I replaced my 6x9's and I just had entirely new wires run from the front to back. Is there any suggestions as to what else might be the problem or will I have to go that route again?

The tweeters have a small connector located just under the sail. You may have a poor connection there. Is the sound in both or just one? If it is in both, then pull the HU out. Remove the ground from the connector and run it directly to the chasis. Did it go away?
