help me

i have a 99 oldsmobile alero gls and every day that i start the engine i hear a ticking that comes from inside the engine and after 10 the ticking stops what could that be???

The lifters slapping. Also refered as valve tap or slap. Common thing on the 3400 and not a big deal. Don't worry about it

i think i just noticed mine doing that too.... kinda a quiet tapping noise at idle....

yeah, i've read countless threads about this and there isn't really a way to solve it... nor does it cause any issues. just one of those "things"
