Strut question...

So when I had some work done on my brakes, the repair shop said that my Oldsmobile recommended my struts be replaced at 60k, since I am around 70k I thought I would look into it. They said it would cost me $900 + labor. In my mind that was a little high and opted not to do it.

What should something like this cost and could I get them cheaper online and not sacrifice quality? I am not looking for anything fancy, just equal or better than stock.

thanks for reading

justin

I rode stock struts until 80k and they were fine. I would not replace them until they are shot or you lower the car.

I have 126 thousand miles on my car with stock struts.. still has a nice firm but comfortable ride to it-

not trying to steal this thread, mabey it'll even answer a question for the OP.

would KYB struts or something of the like lower the car further?

$900+ labor is a ripoff. Even if you got stealership struts, it wouldn't cost $900 in parts. I question you shops what brand they putting in.
