it randomly happens.. basically it thinks your trying to steal the car and it cuts the fuel pump as a security measure.. to reset it- leave the car in the ON position for 11 minutes minimum (or untill your security light quits flashing)

Could also be a sign of the ignition cylinder starting to giving up... or maybe your key is too old and you need a new freshly cut key.

Thats your first course of action. Goto the dealer and get new keys cut directly from the VIN #. Then, if it still does it after that, you'll need a new ignition switch.

New key is totally the way to go unless you got the cash for the new ignition. I had the same problem on mine, so frustrating when it happens. Best to just do what the people above said and leave it in the ON position and when the light goes away try to start it again.

Yes most of the time it needs a freshly cut key, but the passlock chip inside the ign module can crap out. That will make the car hard to start, just cut off while driving, or activate the passlock system which the "security" light will flash and the car will not start for 11 mintues
Just had my ign mod replaced. $555 installed

Its a $60 part. Pay someone else and sure they might rip you off 555$ to do it.
