Tranny Sticking???
Ok, so recently it seems like my trans sticks going into 2nd. I took my car out today on the highway and punched it, sad to say i think it is
My tac went past 6k right at the red line and my rev limiter kicked in for 2 secs then it shifted. What is going on, do i just need to replace my trans fluid because i havent done that since i had the car for about a year now, Or is my tranny about to go?
o i just hit 110k miles if that may help figure the problem

Yea idk, mines doing the exact same thing. when its cold it shift fine when i punch it, but after it warms up a bit that's when it start doing it, only when i give it more acceleration than driving normal. especially when i punch. it goes in second but very hesitant when doing so.

That was the first symptom when my trans went out last year. Eventually it would not upshift at wide open throttle. The next one was chattering and lunging in Reverse gear.

No, I can't say that for sure, but when it really is defective, it should be obvious. I could still drive the car around, just had to ease up on the pedal to let it upshift. That is not good if you need to merge into traffic on the highway, of course. But it also started making loud noise after a while.

try a trans flush, I've had quite a few trannys go out on me (never an alero) but I've never had any stick. but if that what happened to B888 doesn't seem like a good sign...when you flush the trans (since its been a while) I would replace the fluid and keep the same filter for a while, and maybe 100-150 mi later replace fluid and filter, to avoid trans shock

seems like the shift solenoid is sticking in the valve body.... you can try a flush at first and the put new oil....

could be that but could also be some sludge in the passage of the valve body... use a good flush and after change the oil... about 12 liter... do it the right way....

this is what mine did right after i bought it. place i bought the car from had the tranny replaced (twice because they screwed it up the first time) at no cost to me, but its never shifted perfect since then.

i would just drive it easy for now, if you do wanna go fast and punch it and if the hesitation wants to start happening. then do this - it work works for me so it might work for you, just as you go to shift going into second, ease off the gas a bit and the gear WILL go into second just fine without redlineing you car
