Any fix to peeling clearcoat?

The front half of my car is peeling clearcoat like there's no tomorrow. It's all in small chunks, but every panel ahead of the rear doors is flaking off. Is there a DIY fix for it? I don't have the resources to sand, respray and all that stuff. Basically apartment parking lot fix right now. I don't entirely CARE that much about this car's body since it'll outlast the drivetrain anyway, but it'd be nice to keep it looking decent.

Sadly, no.

As far as I know, sanding and painting is the only option you have.

If you really don't care that much, you could take it to a Macco and see what they say

You are probably better off DIY than MAACO, sadly.

Yeah kinda what I figured. I've done it myself before on another car and don't really want to do it again. I'll just let this one flake.

x2 the reason my car has a bra is because of the crappy job MAACO did. Maybe it's just the local MAACO, but I'd never take my car there ever again.

haha well.. I'm kind of a "need-instant-results" kinda person... so I rushed the job and it was very orange peely. It was on a Grand Prix I bought back from the insurance company after I hit a deer.. figured I'd learn bodywork on my own time. From a distance it was good, up close MEH. Mostly I learned I don't have the patience for it.

and thats why people like me do it professionally, sounds to me like the car was a repaint, and not the 90`s delamination problem that plauged all companies

there is no quick fix, sorry it has to be sanded down with 120,180, 240, preped for primer, primer and car preped for paint, then repainted, and other panles preped for color blending

if its just the front end all the r&i work, labor, material, prpeing, sand and buff, it will cost ya about 1500, if its more then the front end then the price keeps going up

Yeah I don't know the history of this car, so not sure if it's been repainted. It's just peeling in odd spots. A chunk on the front bumper, couple strips randomly on the hood. I think there is a spot on one of the doors, don't remember offhand. It looks like delamination like the '90s had, but obviously I'm far from any experience to determine what caused it.
Not a big deal, not worth it to fix. The car will be dead before the paint falls off.
Appreciate all the info though!
